Asa Lovechild

Singer/Actress/Writer/Activist Asa Lovechild, is a native of Louisville, KY who started her singing and acting career on the theatre stage at the age of four. She has had the privilege and honor of touring with the legendary Nona Hendryx for the past 15 years and has shared the stage and worked with the likes of Meshell Ndegeocello, George Clinton, Esperanza Spaulding, Lizz Wright, Kathy Sledge, Melba Moore, Monifah, Sara Dash, Sandra St. Victor, Freddie Jackson, Tsidii Le Loka, The Ladies of SKYY, The Black Rock Coalition, Toshi Reagon, Adam Falcon, Jerry Harrison, Marc Almond Lonnette McKee, Martha Redbone, Morley, Imani Uzuri, and many others.

She was honored to be mentored by the late Ruby Dee and the late Barbara Ann Teer in the early development of her career. She is the owner of an entertainment consulting firm, Faison Innovative Concepts, which helps entertainers with business and marketing strategies, given the contributions of modern advances in technology to entertainment.

Her latest project is a rock women’s anthem single entitled “Emancipated”, which marks Asa’s transition from neo-soul to rock. Her last album Love's Experience (Steve Wallace Edition) has charted twice on the UK soul charts and held strong for more than 8 weeks each time with “Sunshine” and “Maybe It’s Me”, knocking out greats such as Ron Isley and El DeBarge. This led Asa to become one of the top 20 digitally downloaded artists in neo-soul, on Amazon.com UK. You can hear her music in heavy rotation in Brazil, Germany, Nigeria, Japan, London, the UK, and other parts of the world.

Asa holds an MBA in Marketing and is a published author/activist who’s latest writing is featured in the anthology Why I Stand: Boots on the Ground Against Racism by Teresa Holmes. Asa can be seen in acclaimed director, D. Channsin Berry's The Black Line Part 3 and doing voice-over work for Stanley Nelson Jr.’s The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and opened nationwide in the US in 2015. Additionally Asa can be heard on the 24/7 Spyz album The Soundtrack to the Innermost Galaxy and in Night Vale’s Sci-Fi Podcast series, New Adventures In America.
