Monica "MamaSoul" Williamson

MamaSoul…A love of music is the foundation of Monica "MamaSoul" Williamson's creative endeavors. Monica has over twenty years of entertainment industry experience. Her entry began in college serving as music director at the student-run radio station (WHBC, Howard University); interning and working for independent and major label record companies (Big Beat, Atlantic, East/West, Elektra records); coordinating DJ/MC battles for one of the foremost music industry conferences (the New Music Seminar); interning at a boutique music publishing house (whose clients included D’Angelo, Brian McKnight, and Angie Stone); having worked at a seminal Hip-Hop club of the mid-1990s, the Muse; to working at the world-famous Apollo Theater.

As “MamaSoul,” she serves as an indie soul music ambassador working with gifted artists like The Rakiem Walker Project; co-producer/co-host of Musical Pathways Internet Radio Show heard on RhythmandSoulRadio.com; host and producer of the conversation series "People On Purpose". She shares the same roles for the podcast "Life in the key of M". In 2020, MamaSoul was invited to become a conductor and co-producer with The Harlem Connection radio show (WBAI 99.5FM). In the words of the late Jessye Norman, "A person has the right [and] responsibility to develop all of their talents. Taking the insightful words of the hugely talented Ms. Norman to heart, in late Oct. 2021, MamaSoul will launch the online radio station Sounds. Real. Live! radio, home of future favorites, and timeless classics across genres.
